It’s the role this man has needed to do since he was born. Literally. The story goes that DiCaprio’s mother named him Leonardo after visiting Italy and admiring Da Vinci’s artwork in a museum and oh how it all comes full circle.
After beating out Universal for a huge bidding war for the biopic which will be based off the work of author Walter Isaacson’s biography Leonardo Da Vinci, DiCaprio will star and produce alongside Jennifer Davisson under his production company Appian Way.
Obviously DiCaprio is a busy man, but it’s exciting to see him continuously trying to challenge himself with these different roles and if he researches like he did with The Aviator and Howard Hughes then we can expect some pretty strong acting from the vet. His work as a Renaissance man of the highest order makes him one of the most diversely gifted and important people in history. His paintings, sculptures, and contributions to architecture are regarded all across the world and that’s just scratching the surface.
Isaacson is to thank for the Steve Jobs biopic directed by Danny Boyle which the author’s book was used as the source material and information center. Isaacson is a New York Times Best-Selling author whose work that center around the world’s thinkers such as Steve Jobs, Albert Einstein, and Leonardo da Vinci are works that studios clearly want to bid on.
