(Watch) Thor: Ragnarok Definitely Has Taika Watiti’s Stamp On It In First Official Trailer

I haven’t loved the Thor films nor the Thor character in general, but I give credit where credit is due, and that is to Chris Hemsworth for making the character so endlessly likable. The hunky Australian returns as Thor in his third solo film which will pit him up against a familiar rival and friend as they duke it out as gladiators for a gothed out Cate Blanchett.

I get kind of tired of the Marvel comedy anymore and want them to actually let their films live up to the titles they’re starting to get. Ragnorok is not a title I immediately think of humor, I want some hints of seriousness once in awhile! Doctor Strange I thought was a below average film and the more I think about the more I wish it was never made, and it’s because of the unbearably predictable plot and humor.

Hopefully with Taika in charge as both writer and director for the film he can present a more human drama to these Gods and characters that have yet to be truly fleshed out beyond Thor and Loki’s relationship. While this was Taika’s style beforehand, I realizing that every superhero trailer is about to have a known rock song play during the clips, which is fine, but wouldn’t it be hilarious (or totally awesome) if we heard a completely random hip hop song during something like Captain Marvel? I think it’d be hilarious if Norse gods and super women actually listened to N.W.A. or Bone Thugs N Harmony.
