Anytime killing or hunting Natzi’s (Brad Pitt voice) is brought up in a plot synopsis, you have to at least hold a fair amount of hope and excitement, adding Oscar Isaac to the mix never hurts a film either. Obviously Isaac has become one of the main actors to consider for any film and that peak only confirmed itself with his appearance in The Force Awakens among a large amount of critically acclaimed lower budget films such as Ex Machina and Inside Lleywyn Davis.

Operation Finale is not your classic World War II film though, I know, I was sort of bummed too, but thankfully there is still tons of compelling story to be told. Based on a true story about a group of Israeli spies trying to take down a former Nazi general, the film is set in the 1960’s where the rallying of former Nazi’s was a top priority for all countries involved. Isaac’s character of Peter Malkin takes the search more personally than others since the Nazi’s killed his sister and her children.

The film will be written with the same vision as films such as Munich or Argo were set which is promising since both those films are Oscar-nominated films. It’s likely this will try to push for awards next year and rightfully so. Isaac’s range goes from the smallest indie films to the largest scale blockbusters out there. We forget (on purpose) X-Men: Apocalypse, but Isaac was very much a part of that film as well.

Isaac’s career is definitely on the right trajectory and doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. This will also be the second film Isaac is producing which will be thrown on his resume alongside Pacific Rim 2.
