Don’t Be Surprised If Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke Becomes A Casualty Of ‘The Batman’

Every week, no, nearly every other day, does it seem like the news churns out for The Batman, and the latest is the possibility that the film’s new course could sail without the villain of Deathstroke who Joe Manganiello was cast to portray. Before we get down and out like we want to on this movie, the course correction seems to actually be making sense rather than just becoming this sloppy mess.

Manganiello was on a Pittsburgh radio show and was asked about his involvement with the film after all these changes and like most of us, he answered with an “I don’t know”. Joe is an incredibly cool, talented actor, and Warner Brothers likes him – as they should – so don’t worry about his future in a DC movie because the man almost portrayed Superman folks before Henry Cavill made the role worth respecting again. Joe could and should be in any DC role they can find for him because he’s that well suited.

Matt Reeves is working on a new script for the film which could likely not include the character of Deathstroke who is normally a staple for the Teen Titans, fans of the cartoon (not the crappy child version!) know all about Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke along with his menace to the Titans that included the likes of Dick Grayson’s Robin, who will likely already be Nightwing by the time a Teen Titans film comes out, Starfire, Beast Boy, Raven, Kid Flash in the comics, and Cyborg.

I don’t expect this to be the end of the road for Joe or for his role as Deathstroke just yet, but if it is, I don’t think they are going to waste his talents or let him go to somewhere like a Marvel or Fox nor should they.
