The DC Extended Universe Is Changing Their Plans, Want To Shoot Another Film This Year

I think Warner Brothers has thrown in the towel on their efforts on the first set of plans they once had and are learning it’s time to try something else. Rewrites on scripts, new directors galore, and reshoots for Justice League seem to be tell tale signs of a “rebirth” of sorts for the studio and it’s superhero films.

Henry Cavill had recently hinted at Green Lantern on his Instagram which has fans speculating that he already knows who is cast for the role(s) or he knows the film will be coming sooner than later. Well, it appears that Warner Bros. wants to put another film in production this year with some of the film options being Green Lantern, Suicide Squad 2, The Flash, Gotham City Sirens, and Justice League Dark.

Writer and sometimes director David S. Goyer is rumored to be one of the front runners to direct Suicide Squad 2 if Mel Gibson doesn’t come on board. Goyer is also an option that could direct Green Lantern Corps., but I for one do not want him to direct any movie, ever. He can stay as a writer and I will be happy, but why of all people to look at for directing a huge film property would you look at  the guy who wrote and directed Blade Trinity?

It just makes me want Gibson to sign on for Suicide Squad already just so Goyer doesn’t direct anything, but at the same time, I’ve seen a Green Lantern film fail miserably before, and I don’t want to see that happen again. There are so many rich storytellers out there who could direct the shit out of these movies and Goyer just isn’t one of them. I think it’s wise that they want to work on some of these movies earlier than later, but hopefully they actually have vision and focus that they can stick with this time around.
