One of everyone’s surprise favorites of 2014 was Dan Gilroy’s indie project Nightcrawler starring Jake Gyllenhaal and the director/writer is looking to get his cast in order for his next film Inner City. The film had Denzel Washington attached, but will now add the underrated talents of Colin Farrell to co-lead with Washington.
The description by Variety reads:
Washington plays a hard-nosed liberal lawyer named Roman J. Israel, who’s been fighting the good fight while others take the credit. When his partner has a heart attack, Israel suddenly takes on the role of the firm’s frontman. He soon uncovers details about the crusading law firm’s history that run afoul of his values of helping the poor and dispossessed, and finds himself in an existential crisis that leads to extreme action.
Farrell will mute his Irish brogue to play a lawyer along with Washington at this firm.
Farrell took the indie film world by storm with his performance in The Lobster, a surreal, black comedy of sorts where he had to gain a pedo-stach, a pot belly, and open up his acting range to become a wimpy man trying to find love. He also was in Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them for Warner Brothers.
