The love and excitement fans have been slammed with for James Wan’s Aquaman solo film is well deserved and the film is making it’s case yet again. James Wan’s muse, Patrick Wilson, has been cast as the half-brother, eventual villain Ocean Master for the solo film that includes Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, and Willem Dafoe.
Wilson has been seen in horror films directed by Wan in the past, including the Insidious trilogy as well as The Conjuring franchise. Wilson is also no stranger to the comic book genre with Warner Brothers. His star role as Night Owl in the Zack Snyder directed Watchmen is also noteworthy as he brings the feasibility behind the mask as well as physicality you need to believe.
To give ORM aka Ocean Master a small summary, he is the half brother of Arthur Curry (Aquaman) who bares a sibling rivalry that isn’t nearly as charming or funny as that of Thor and Loki’s. Ocean Master despises the land dwellers and wishes to be the king of Atlantis over Arthur which causes rifts (literally) throughout their histories.
Wilson can be seen soon in what was supposedly an Oscar caliber film in The Founder counter Michael Keaton as Ray Kroc, the man who globalized McDonald’s. Aquaman is set for wide release late July, 2018.
