With Star Wars somewhere in the title it’s no doubt we are going to see the film, but a film that emphasizes on the war part of this franchise is not something we’ve been given that didn’t have whiny Jedi and over-reliance on CGI (the prequels). Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) has directed this spin-off film that takes place in between Episode III and IV and revolves a rag tag team of Rebels who are trying to steal the plans of the Death Star.
From this trailer, I don’t have a good feeling about many of these characters getting out alive by any means. The cast is phenomenal and the trailer adds to their characters personalities, even though they were brief, and it confirms that this will be a much more somber film as the scenes roll on.
I am glad the Mads Mikkleson will be a vital character to the creation of the Death Star and his role will serve as importance unlike many other great character actors in big films like this. The brief look at Darth Vader and the villainous shots of Ben Mendelsohn make the Empire look unstoppable in the best/worst ways. To say I’m more excited by this film with each trailer would be an understatement and December is creeping upon us already!
SCORE: “Very excited!”
