Wolverine 3 Gets An Official Title and Poster

The heartbreak X-Men and Hugh Jackman fans have while coming to grips with the realities of their current situation should shed tears of sorrow and happiness. Why? Because we have our official title and poster for Hugh Jackman’s final film as Wolverine…

Logan Poster Hugh Jackman Wolverine 3 Wolverine 3 Poster Reveals Logan Title

Not only does this poster convey some serious heartbreak along the way, but the fact they decided to make it slightly resemble something like the poster for Schindler’s List is just too much for me right now. It’s reported that the child hand is of a young female mutant, no names confirmed.

Director James Mangold also stated that Wolverine is “older” and that “it’s clear his abilities aren’t what they once were.” This is shaping up to truly be the final time Hugh Jackman dawns his claws in this universe or the next. To paraphrase, it also sounded like Professor X is going to have his final ride, but I won’t spoil the specifics of what that means. TheWrap has the full, exclusive details on this topic.

But what this all means for me is clear, the Rated-R rating they gave this film was not going to strictly be a gimmick or reaction to Deadpool’s sucess. It seems like the film is shaping up to be something that is going to have a lot of blood, sorrow, and depressing tropes to throw into the narrative. The story is also going to be set in 2024 and mutants aren’t being born as regularly as they once were. This will all tie into the plot that revolves around Logan going through his final steps as a hero and taking down the government baddies once and for all.
