Warner Brothers is moving forward with their reboot of Dungeons and Dragons, a role playing game that has one of the largest followings of any role playing game. The original film was more than forgettable and somehow cast Jeremy Irons in the film. WB is taking the best steps they can produce with their franchises and big budget films since their decline in status over the years.
Elgort has been seen in many young adult movies which include the Divergent series, A Fault In Our Stars, and can also be seen in the remake of Carrie. The 22 year old actor was also up for the role of young Han Solo before being beat out by Hail Caesar! star Alden Ehrenreich.
The film will be directed by Rob Letterman, a director whose resume doesn’t exactly scream Dungeons and Dragons with his credits being on the recent Goosebumps film with Jack Black along with Gulliver’s Travels (also with Jack Black), and Shark Tale. They claim the film will have a Guardians of the Galaxy tone in a Hobbit like world. If you ask me, those two descriptions mix like water and oil, but we will have to wait and see.
