As we hoped and expected all along, Ben Affleck will be directing his own solo Batman film in the near future for DC and Warner Bros. but a date has yet to be released for the project. One of the worst kept secrets in Hollywood was the fact that Affleck was brought on to play the Dark Knight because he was not only a good fit for the character, but because he’d be able to have control over his own solo films in the future and that appears to coming to fruition.
Warner Brothers CEO Kevin Tsujihara has stated that the studio will commit to 10 DC films in the next five years which will likely mean two films a year for the foreseeable future.
Solo films for all of the JL members are still scheduled on DC/WB’s slate which includes Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg as well as Justice League Part 1 & 2 with Suicide Squad also making buzz.
