And Just Like That, Michael Keaton Is Rumored For ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Villain

As soon as we got news of the new Spider-Man film’s title – Spider-Man Solo Film Title – we are already getting possible casting for the villain for the Marvel film. Oscar-snubbed, oh I mean nominated, actor Michael Keaton is in early talks for the main villain of the solo Spider-Man film.

No surprise here that Marvel has been able to gain such talent for their films and this doesn’t break the streak whatsoever. Keaton had arguably his most impressive performance in Alejandro Inarritu’s Birdman (2014) and just as Birdman became a parallel to Keaton’s career, we are seeing another possible parallel for which villain he could end up playing.

The rumored villain in question is the likes of Adrian Toomes aka Vulture, an electrical engineer who is able to create a flying mechanical suit which also gives him super-strength (obviously). Had Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 not been meddled with – thanks studios – and the film had been better, we could have likely seen his fourth film come to life with John Malkovich as Vulture instead, but Keaton is no shlub in the acting world and has range like an opera singer.

How cool would it be if Beetlejuice, Batman, and Birdman were confirmed for a Marvel movie? Hope these turn out to be facts, but I’ll be sure to keep you posted!
