Who would have thought that a franchise would grow as rapidly and successfully as The Fast and the Furious? Soon to enter its eighth installment with Straight Outta Compton director F. Gary Gray in the director’s chair, the always diverse cast will bring on another talented young buck by the name of Scott Eastwood who can be seen next in the much anticipated Suicide Squad as an unknown role.
Bringing on the offspring of one America’s greatest film icons (Clint Eastwood of course) makes perfect sense for a film that has brought on all walks of life into their pictures and when Paul Walker passed away they lost their all-American heart throb and straight man and Scott Eastwood brings all of the above.
According to Deadline, Eastwood has let the ink dry on the leading role for the film and will join as a new addition which will also bring on the new face of Charlize Theron to the franchise as the villain. Both of these characters (unknown) will be completely original and will end up meeting the original cast through the means of the newest plot.
F. Gary Gray and company will be bringing a new “trilogy” of stories to effectively end the franchise – until they find a way to reboot it – with it’s tenth installment. The film is scheduled to be in theater April 17th, 2017.
