Couldn’t Tell You What ‘High-Rise’ (2016) Is About, But I’m In – Trailer Review

Of all the trailers today, this is the most mysterious. Tom Hiddleston is breaking away from his role as Loki in the MCU and is proving to us all that he is a force in the acting world. In this arthouse film from director Ben Wheatley comes a futuristic, class clash film of unique proportions.

Hiddleston is a doctor who “moves into London skyscraper where rising tensions and class warfare lead to anarchy.” With a stellar cast and mysterious plot, this feels like nothing we see beyond our mainstream films on Friday nights. It’s crisp and sharply directed from what we’ve seen and is an adaptation acclaimed author J.G. Ballard.

I’m not sure I have much to say about this beyond the fact I am excited for this film’s potential and to see Hiddleston in some more leading roles.
