J.K. Rowling Confirms the Plans to Make ‘Fantastic Beasts’ A Trilogy

Potter Heads all over the world rejoiced when they learned that J.K. Rowling was going to continue her now iconic stories within the Harry Potter universe by giving us a story line that predates the story of “The Boy Who Lived” with Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. Telling the tales of Newt Scamander, played by Academy Award-winner Eddie Redmayne, as a Magizoologist who must track down an array “fantastic beasts” before they set up endless trouble in the Muggle world.

This will be the first of three films in a new trilogy that takes place exactly 70 years before Harry and the gang set foot into Hogwarts. Also a part of the cast for Fantastic Beasts is Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller, and Colin Ferrell.

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them will be in theaters this year, November 18th, and the sequels are planned to release in the years 2018 and 2020.
