A big round of applause for Kurt Russell’s impressive resurgence in film over the last two years I mean seriously, this dude is popping up everywhere from Furious 7 to even Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight. Rumors reported by TheWrap are claiming Russell in the running for the mysterious role of Starlord’s dad in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and boy does that make sense.
Whoever Russell is in candidacy for, it’s a smart move to bring him on. Russell is one of the world class actors who doesn’t get mentioned in the vein of other actors his age (64). He brings charisma and charm no matter what age he is and he is always the guy you enjoy seeing on screen.
There are no official offers on the table for Russell nor any hints as to which character he would end up playing in this brilliantly realized James Gunn universe we’ve all grown to love.
Russell is no stranger to being a nerd fan favorite with his work as a muse for the legendary John Carpenter on films such as The Thing, Big Trouble in Little Chine, and Escape From New York.
