Prometheus 2: Title Has Changed to ‘Alien: Covenant’

Ridley Scott wasn’t fooling any of us when he said that Prometheus wasn’t a tie in to his original film series Alien and he knows it now. Prometheus was a film I enjoyed way more than many other people and that’s totally cool and I was looking forward to the story continuing. With Neil Blomkamp more or less being bullied off of his Alien 5 by Scott himself, we are now officially tied back into the world of Aliens.

Fox has given us an official synopsis for this new film and it says:

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

If any of you recall the ending (SPOILERS AHEAD)…

….

Noomi Rapace’s character Michael Fassbender’s David are the only two people to survive the carnage that was alien attack on the crew of the PrometheusThey both supposedly flee to a distant world that appears to be what the synopsis of the film is depicting. With that in mind, we can only wonder what has happened to Rapace’s character and how the hell David (who was only a head) managed to survive by himself. I guess we’ll find out when the film comes out.
